Physics homework: easy ways to make it faster

If you are struggling with your homework, there are some easy ways to make it go by faster.

  1. Set a timer. Set your timer for a specific duration of homework-only time. Remove any distractions and avoid doing anything but the task you set out to complete during that time. Having a timer will help your mind from wandering, constantly trying to stay apprise to the time. This is especially useful if you are in a hurry, or have limited time to do your homework. This enables your brain to relax and focus entirely on the physics task at hand. When the timer goes off, you know it is time to stop, and you do not have to worry about constantly interrupting your flow.
  2. Make a study space. Your mind needs to be free from distractions and this applies to your physical distractions too. Do not try and study at the kitchen table while your mother makes food, your father watches the game, and your older siblings are on the phone sitting next to you. There will be too many distractions. Make, or find, a special study space where you always go to do your physics homework. By having a specific space, your brain will automatically adjust to working when you sit there, and this will make it easier for you to switch to “homework mode” and get your physics work done faster. On that note…
  3. Make a study time. Try and study at the same time each day or each week. Working at the same time allows your brain to adjust yet again and turn on to homework mode at the same time each day. This is very beneficial for your brain and for your productivity.
  4. Create a rewards system. Physics homework is demanding, and difficult. But with a rewards system, you have a light at the end of the tunnel. You can buckle down and work knowing that when you finish you will get a reward after. Maybe your reward is getting to watch your favorite television show, eating your favorite food, or reading your favorite non-school-related book.
  5. Use quiet and calming music in the background to focus your mind. Make sure it is something instrumental or classical, without words. This will help you concentrate on your physics homework rather than being distracted by singing along to the tune.
